Web Design Trends 2025
3 trends, 3 anti trends and honorable mentions

There are some new, exciting design trends taking over 2025 already.
I know I say it every year, but this year is different.
I’ll walk you through just three main trends, with examples and some commentary. Then at the end I’ll mention the obvious sub-trends that stayed from last year.
The third of the main trends will be the biggest this coming year!
By A LARGE MARGIN.

Then we’ll go through three anti-trends that are going away in 2025. Exploring them may be a waste of time so let me save some for you.
The second and third anti trends are especially interesting! Many startups are still trying do them. I think it’s a huge waste of time!
Web Design trends for 2025
Let’s start with the first trend — which really isn’t anything entirely new, but technology allows for it to reach (slightly) new heights.

Very visual
There is still room for visually heavy, slightly overdone web experiences. It is however a delicate balance between just being cool for designers, and actually useful for clients.

Nice animations can enhance the experience and not overwhelm when done right like in:

This is an example where good copy and ample whitespace is merged with some, subtle animations that are only with decoration. Moving any text or boxes is always a bad idea.
