My whole point was that bad UI design very often means the rest of the product is bad.
That’s like the entire summary in one sentence.
Of course I know these processes, negotiating etc — I’ve been doing this quite a while. But this wasn’t the point of the article.
It’s rarely the case of being forced to do s**t work in the UI department. Sure — the CEO can have a Comic Sans affection, but it’s their job to make them understand why another vision works better.
And it’s not as hard to convince people anymore — I’ve been seeing a perception shift in stakeholders for a while now.
So in general my point wasn’t that a new coat of paint would suddenly make this app great — it was showing that they barely took any effort to do the UI -> which likely means the same amount of precision was used across the board.
