It used to be much more “artistic” a few years ago. I think now a lot of the projects on Dribbble are made with at least some UX principles in check and are not that overboard anymore, while still beautiful.

Many of the current visual design trends originated there so it’s important to mix that with all the external UX knowledge for best results.
