I’m skipping vibe coding to build real things

Alan Kay, the father of GUI and object oriented programming famously said:

People who are really serious about software should make their own hardware

And nowadays, people who are not serious about anything, are vibe-coding slopware. But I promised to at least sometimes not talk about AI, so I promise I keep it at a minimum Today.

I’ll only mention where and how it was used in this specific project, but I will primarily focus on human curiosity, joy of building and why you should do it to.

So I’m building a hardware device. An e-ink writerdeck called Mindflow that has a dedicated (mini) python OS, all optimizations for the e-ink typing built in, and will be fully open-sourced when done.

Oh and it also auto-pushes the .md files from the device to a git repository. So they basically auto-sync to all my computers.

But why am I doing this?
