I never had that particular problem, but switched to primary, secondary, success etc naming convention anyway as it let us automate a couple of things (especially wiki generation for documentation).

Besides it makes sense, as a success color doesn’t always have to be green and if the company gets rebranded it can simply switch to blue or aqua without a confusing name to match.

What I found helpful was creating the document colors early on and removing all the other presets completely (the default ones).
