Heatmaps are a great research tool.
Exploring a new UX research and analytics tool.
Many designers are often struggling with the research part when writing their first case studies, or even working on their first real product.
While there’s a lof of ways to do research, let me tell you about one we do every single time at hype4 when working on real, client products.
I’m talking about an agile approach of constantly monitoring your working product and making adjustments based on what you find from these analytics and from talking to your users.
I will cover qualitative studies on users later, including how to talk to users and get the most actionable responses for you, but today let’s talk about analytics.
What comes to mind with analytics is of course looking through charts and graphs in Google Analytics. And while that tool is quite powerful, it requires you to think a lot, plan, and is also difficult to use.
There are new, smarter analytics tools on the market right now that make it easier for you to iterate faster and what’s also cool, they allow you to use the results from their reports in your case studies in a nice, visual way.
