Get more blog engagement
How to visually revive the long form?

My Medium articles got a collective 7 Million views in just 5 years. I believe this is not due to my “awesome” literary skills, but rather my ability to present information.
Let me explain.
I quickly noticed that blogs have a bit of a problem with engagement. As much as technically possible I polished both my writing AND the way I present it.
It paid off. (also literally)
This is why I love this platform so much.
Pay attention because this article has a second layer. That layer is a guide on how I got more people interested in what I do.
You can use it to gain new readers here, or on the website or blog of your business.

The problem with blogs
Let’s face it. In a world of 3 second vertical videos most people don’t have the time to read blogs. Of course I don’t mean you — dear reader, you’re cool!
And while I constantly hear that a good story will always find readers and defend itself, the reality of the modern world begs to differ.
Majority of content consumers online are like a goldfish. They see something shiny and their attention is there. For five seconds tops. Then they get distracted by something else. This goes back and forth and is now considered “content consumption”.

Blogs remain unchanged
Now, hear me out! I don’t mean we should make blogs into a cognitive overload nightmare. They should still be about delivering a compelling story.
But the first blog was published in 1997. That’s 27 years ago. During all that time the template of a blog post remained largely unchanged.
