Follower counts… count?

Should you go for as many followers as possible? We’re seeing an insane push towards growing follower counts at all costs.

That number on your profile seems to be the most important quality validation. Or validation of self worth.

Or both.

Many creators go that route because they feel like having more people will mean more sales.

The correlation there is not that simple.

The growth tactic

Typical growth tactic that most people take is to create content that will appeal to the widest possible audience. That’s the easiest way to reach more people and convert them into followers.

There is a problem with that approach though. The problem is that by having wide appeal you lose focus. You sort of appeal to everyone but in reality it’s forgettable.

And that makes it extremely difficult to close a sale.
