Exactly! That popup led me to use server-side (non-cookie based) analytics on nearly all my websites just to be able to NOT have it.

I think right now people know enough about privacy + this should be handled on the browser side (maybe some small flash of an icon on the navbar showing that data is collected) and not obstructing the actual content.

But we can only hope…
